Coming into the season, the Falcons were perceived to have the best backup quarterback in the league. But in Kirk Cousins‘ two appearances so far, he’s looked like the quarterback that threw one touchdown and nine interceptions over a five-game stretch that cost the Falcons a chance at the playoffs last year. He’ll be taking over the starting quarterback job, likely his final opportunity to prove to the rest of the league that he can still play.
Behind Cousins, the Falcons have Easton Stick on the practice squad, who, in all likelihood, will be elevated to the active roster before Sunday’s game against the Saints.
Kyle Trask is now set up to be the Falcons’ QB3. He spent the last three seasons in Tampa Bay behind Baker Mayfield after being drafted in the second round, only appearing in seven games and attempting 11 passes.
