Rams rumored to be after Arch Manning with Falcons’ first-round pick

When Terry Fontenot called Les Snead about moving back into the first round, the Rams GM’s eyes likely lit up as he demanded the Falcons’ 2026 first-round pick.

It enabled Atlanta to land James Pearce Jr., whom the club was reportedly comfortable taking at the 15th pick. Instead, Jalon Walker fell into their laps, and the Falcons did the right thing by selecting the better prospect.

But instead of just being satisfied with the prospect that fell, the Falcons doubled down, trading a haul of draft picks to land Pearce, arguably the second-best pure pass rusher in this class.

It made sense for the Falcons, and it was too sweet to pass up for the Rams. It’s clear what Los Angeles is preparing for — life after Matthew Stafford. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback is in the twilight years of his career, but the Rams will never be in a position to land a top prospect because they’ll be in the postseason hunt.

Enter an extra first-round pick, thanks to the Falcons. The Rams will now have the capital needed to make a move up the board next draft cycle, and according to Dianna Russini, the word on the street is Les Snead and Sean McVay have their eyes on Arch Manning.

Arch Manning might be the most hyped draft prospect who has only played in 12 total college games and thrown for fewer than 1,000 yards.

The Texas Longhorns will be college football’s most-watched team in 2025 because of Arch Manning, but there’s no guarantee that their star quarterback will turn into an elite quarterback at the next level. I think Manning will be a supreme talent; however, I still believe it’s just as likely that he returns to Austin in 2026 instead of going to the NFL.

There’s also no guarantee that the Falcons draft pick is even close to enough to get the Rams all the way up to the top of the draft.
