To say that it has been a transformational time in Athens since the hiring of Kirby Smart in December of 2015 is one of the biggest understatements that can be made.
The standard of what can be has come to Georgia football, and the Bulldogs have become college football’s standard bearer through being relentless, unyielding and aggressive. That result, of course, peaked with two back-to-back titles in a row.
That energy has, of course followed the manta of a team’s mentality been set, of course, by Kirby Smart. And part of that has come through Smart’s sound bites. Some have been public, others ‘leaked,’ from the inner sanctum. Many of them, of course, are not safe for work or a small Bulldog child’s ears.

The Florida Speech
Did this audio jar the conscience when it found its way online? Yes. Did it also make Bulldog fans want to run through a wall and also reinforce that Kirby Smart dislikes Georgia’s rivals as much as its fans? Also yes. And while it can never be confirmed, its hard not to consider that this speech…just before embarrassing Florida…helped encourage UF to ask Dan Mullen to seek employment elsewhere.
How Bout Them F’ing Dawgs?!
Did Kirby Smart likely have some ‘splaining to do for this press conference remark? Yes. Did it instill how much the Auburn game matters to him as a former player? Absolutely.
Post-TCU Audio
While its never been confirmed which game this came from during 2022, the audio that found its way online after the TCU domination reinforced who Georgia football was, and how driven Kirby Smart was – and the reason why the Bulldogs had just gone back-to-back as national champs.

This game’s first half was highly frustrating, but this halftime speech was every bit of a called shot. It summed up how confident Kirby Smart is in his team, and how that belief drives Georgia’s players.

Georgia was counted out and had to overcome bad officiating to beat Texas two years ago. Smart tapped into that sentiment in a big way. There was no PC comment here, there was no fear to go after the TV or SEC partners. It was very much a ‘we’re not taking this’ moment.
