The Savannah Voice Festival Celebrates 25 Years!

The Savannah VOICE Festival (SVF) is a vibrant celebration of classical singing in our enchanting city.

Each year, this beloved festival showcases over 25 performances, ranging from operas and concerts to food and wine events and immersive masterclasses. It is led by the legendary opera star Sherrill Milnes. From opera and musical theater to timeless songs, SVF delivers an array of musical excellence.

Part of the renowned Sherrill Milnes VOICE Programs, SVF is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to bringing the beauty of classical vocal music to Savannah and beyond. Hosted during August and throughout the year, the festival presents concerts, special events, and educational opportunities, creating unforgettable experiences for audiences of all ages.

Founded by Sherrill Milnes and soprano Maria Zouves, the festival and its sister organization, VOICExperience Foundation, share a common mission. This is to empower young artists in their performing arts careers while enriching the community with world-class performances and education. Together, they continue to make Savannah a thriving hub for vocal artistry and cultural connection.

The 2025 Festival is entitled “Once Upon a Time.”

Step into the magic of the 2025 Summer Festival, Once Upon a Time, as we celebrate three incredible milestones in the world of opera. Join us in marking 25 years of nurturing aspiring singers through the VOICE Programs, honoring the legendary Maestro Milnes on his 90th birthday, and commemorating the 60th anniversary of Sherrill Milnes’ unforgettable debut at the Metropolitan Opera.

This season, we’re taking you on a fairy tale-inspired musical adventure featuring unforgettable performances. Highlights include:

• The World Premiere of Cinderella’s Royal Feast

A delightful new opera by Michael Ching, created in collaboration with students from the Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts.

• A Spectacular Concert Directed by David Friedman

Experience the brilliance of the renowned composer in an extraordinary evening of music.

• A Celebration of Sherrill Milnes

Relive the magic of one of opera’s finest voices with a tribute to his legendary career. Don’t miss a performance of Verdi’s Rigoletto, one of his most iconic roles.
