Three Braves prospects outside of the top 10 to watch closely

Baseball America updated their top 30 prospect list for the Braves earlier this week. I went over the top 10 yesterday, but what about some guys outside the top 10 who could find themselves near the top at some point down the line? Here are three names worth monitoring.

Luke Sinnard (Prospect Rank #13)

A third-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Sinnard rose up boards quickly last season after posting a 2.86 ERA between Low-A Augusta and High-A Rome — which is even more impressive considering the Braves took a chance on him coming off Tommy John surgery.

What stands out most about Sinnard is the frame. He’s a monstrous human being at 6-foot-8 and 250 pounds, featuring a four-pitch mix. His fastball sits in the mid-90s and touched 97 last season, paired with a slider, splitter, and curveball. The slider and splitter are clearly his two best secondary offerings.

His control is another promising sign. Sinnard punched out 10.7 batters per nine innings last season against just 3.4 walks. All of it gives him a pretty high floor as a prospect, but there’s a chance he finds another gear as he climbs the system and becomes a name every Braves fan needs to know.

Isaiah Drake (Prospect Rank #21)

Isaiah Drake — younger brother of former NFL running back Kenyan Drake — is a prospect whose athleticism is his best tool, which is why the Braves took a shot on his upside in the fifth round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

There are obvious questions about whether that athleticism can translate into consistent offensive production, but his start to 2026 is beginning to turn some heads. In 38 games, he’s hitting .281 with seven home runs and an .830 OPS for High-A Rome. For a player with his athletic profile, if the consistency with the bat starts showing up regularly, he could rocket up prospect rankings in a hurry.

Luis Guanipa (Prospect Rank #22)

Luis Guanipa was the Braves’ top international prospect in the 2023 signing class, inking a $2.5 million deal. The transition to professional baseball in the United States has been a rough one, however, posting a .577 OPS in 2024 and .670 OPS last season.

Now 20 years old, Guanipa is still in Low-A Augusta, but the results are finally starting to show. In 38 games he’s hitting .316 with eight home runs and an .894 OPS — already double the home run total he posted over his previous two seasons combined. That’s a sign that something may be clicking at the professional level.

Guanipa will likely be headed to High-A Rome any day now. If the success follows him there, it might be time to start reconsidering the kind of impact he could eventually make at the major-league level.
