For two weeks this fall, one of Tucker’s favorite gathering spots is going all in on its local spin of the annual Oktoberfest festivities.
Tucker Brewing Company’s ninth annual Tucktoberfest returns September 19 – October 3, bringing live music, games, food, and plenty of beer to the brewery at 2003 S. Bibb Drive.
The celebration kicks off Saturday, September 19, with a full day of entertainment. Chris Odom takes the stage from 1-4 p.m., followed at 4 p.m. by a new Tucktoberfest tradition: Tucker Mayor Ann Lerner will tap the first keg in the festival’s inaugural keg-tapping ceremony.
The Marty Martin Polka Band follows from 5-7 p.m. before guests put their Oktoberfest skills to the test with stein holding, pretzel eating, keg rolling, a wiener toss, malt sack race and more. The Amazing Mongooses close out opening night with live music from 8-10 p.m.
And that’s only day one.
Tucktoberfest continues select days through October 3, with a rotating lineup of live music, games and special events. Highlights include Quiet Hounds live on stage September 25, Mahjongg 101 with Katherine Fortner on October 1 and a performance by Dire Wolf on October 2.
The brewery’s Tucktoberfest Märzen Lager gives guests another way to get into the spirit of the season.
A gathering place built around beer, food and community
Tucktoberfest may be a good reason to make a first visit, but Tucker Brewing Company has become a year-round destination for much more than its annual German-themed, fall holiday celebration.
The family-owned-and-operated brewery specializes in lagers, drawing inspiration from German brewing traditions while creating beers meant to be enjoyed close to home. Its lineup includes Tucker Lager, TKR Pilsner and Slow Pour TKR Pilsner alongside seasonal and specialty releases.
The food gets its own attention, too.
Tucker Brewing pairs its beers with a chef-driven menu that leans into the brewery’s German influence while offering plenty beyond traditional beer garden fare. Guests can find options such as a giant pretzel, sauerkraut bites and TKR Pilsner Fish & Chips, making the brewery as much a destination for a meal as it is for a pint.
At the center of the experience is the beer garden. With plenty of room to gather, it provides a setting for everything from an afternoon with friends to live music and community events. Tucker Brewing also hosts private events and offers catering, extending that gathering-place mentality beyond a typical brewery visit.
