Ever since Mike Gundy was fired by Oklahoma State, Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson has been linked to the head coaching vacancy. Robinson, who played quarterback for the Cowboys under Gundy, has quickly risen through the coaching ranks, spending time under Sean McVay before taking over as Atlanta’s offensive coordinator. He’s an obvious fit for the position, and it seems there’s more than just smoke coming from the rumor mill.
When asked Thursday about being contacted by Oklahoma State, Robinson declined to comment, saying he’s focused solely on this week’s matchup with the Bills.

It’s funny how life in the NFL works. Just a couple of weeks ago, most Falcons fans would’ve packed Zac Robinson’s bags themselves and driven him to the airport after Atlanta was embarrassingly shut out 30-0 by the lowly Panthers.
But after Robinson moved down to the field and guided the Falcons offense to 34 points in a win over the Commanders the following week, the tone has changed. There’s renewed optimism about the potential of this group, and that could grow even more with another strong showing in front of a national audience against the Bills on Monday Night Football.
Regardless of how the rest of the season unfolds, Robinson’s time in Atlanta is likely to be short-lived. If the Falcons turn in more performances like the one in Carolina, he won’t make it to a third season. But if they keep looking like they did against Washington, Oklahoma State won’t be the only team reaching out about a head coaching opportunity. That’s just the nature of the business — especially for offensive coordinators. Everyone’s searching for the next Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan, and many believe Robinson could be that guy.
