3 Things I Don’t Have To Worry About

I could use an off week. I don’t know about you, but the last 3 Georgia games have not been easy to consume. (Okay, the 2H of Vandy was fairly smooth going down, but it took a while to get there). I may not be as bruised and battered as the Bulldog players, but I don’t see them with a corporate job, a mortgage, yard and house maintenance, food to cook, and be an Uber driver for kids. Let’s just say it’s not comparable.

Being a fan ain’t easy, and being a Georgia Bulldog fan has never been easy on the cardiovascular and digestive systems. So this off week comes at a very opportune time for all. With that in mind, I will allay the regular weekly Munsoning and remind myself why this weekend I can wear my heart rate monitor without fear of it alerting the paramedics of an impending medical emergency.

  1. The Bulldog defense won’t miss dozens of tackles. No mobile quarterbacks to slip out of the backfield and elude sacks and TFLs.
  2. Peyton Woodring won’t miss a field goal due to crappy field conditions or a FG unit that isn’t completely set and focused on the task at hand.
  3. No balls will be thrown to someone attending another college or university (or Auburn), and no balls will be dropped to the ground, subject to the whims of a prolate spheriod made of pigskin amidst large powerful men covered with protective equipment engaged in physical combat.

It doesn’t just extend to me and you, the fans. The refs will have a break too, and can wash their well-used penalty flags. I’m sure they are tired of throwing their laundry on the field every time a deep ball is thrown and Ellis Robinson or Demello Jones is in coverage.

The stats and graphics staff on the broadcast team can take it easy, not having to worry if they forgot to push the Georgia Bulldog record against unranked teams graphic onto our screens.

What concerns are you freed of, thanks to the off week? Is it less shopping and logistics for a tailgate you don’t have to prep? Finally having time to take care of that leaky drain or clogged gutter that’s been bugging you? Maybe it is the chance to eliminate guilt from not spending quality time with family or some friends. Whatever it is, enjoy a Saturday where your Georgia Bulldogs can’t ruin your week because of an inexplicable loss.

Then again, these games are few and fleeting. And watching the ‘Dawgs play football is always a good thing, even when it’s bad. So as always…

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
