The Atlanta Beltline reached a new milestone Thursday as city leaders cut the ribbon on the final segments of the Southeast Trail.
Segments 4 and 5 complete the 2.5-mile Southeast Trail, which now runs continuously from the Krog Street Tunnel to Boulevard Southeast. The 1.2-mile addition links the path to Glenwood Park, Grant Park, Ormewood Park and Boulevard Heights, expanding access for walkers, runners and cyclists.

With the opening, the Beltline now totals about 14.8 miles of completed trail out of its planned 22-mile loop. The goal is to finish the entire loop by 2030.
Mayor Andre Dickens called the expansion another step toward a “more connected and accessible” Atlanta, adding that another segment is expected to open by early June. That would bring the continuous trail closer to 18 miles in time for the FIFA World Cup matches this summer.
