An iconic blue feline from children’s literature is returning to the stage at the Center for Puppetry Arts.

“Pete the Cat,” a show based on the award-winning and New York Times best-selling book series, will run at the Atlanta puppet venue from Jan. 27 through March 15, 2026.

The fan-favorite production will once again bring Pete and his friends to life through eye-catching puppets, original music and a story that is suitable for audiences of all ages.

According to a synopsis, the show follows the titular Pete as he navigates everyday adventures with optimism, creativity and his trademark cool demeanor.

Through original puppetry and catchy music, the production emphasizes themes of “curiosity, resilience and the joy of staying true to oneself,” all of which are staples of the beloved book series, said the Center for Puppetry Arts.

In addition to the show, the Center for Puppetry Arts will also host a special appearance by James Dean, the co-creator and illustrator of “Pete the Cat,” on Saturday, Jan. 31. Dean will be signing books following the day’s 1 p.m. performance (a separate add-on ticket is required to attend the book signing event).

Tickets for “Pete the Cat” and performance schedules are currently available on the Center for Puppetry Arts’ website.
