Children’s Museum of Atlanta announced that it will honor longtime community leader Andrea Montag with the “Power of Play Award” at its upcoming Imagination Ball fundraiser, which is slated for March 13, 2026.

The annual event recognizes individuals who “embody the museum’s mission to change the world by sparking every child’s imagination, sense of discovery and learning through the power of play,” said the Children’s Museum.

Montag currently serves on the boards of WABE, Skyland Trail, A Million Matters and Washington University’s Atlanta Alumni. Her previous board experience includes working with Children’s Museum of Atlanta, The Temple and The Lovett Linebackers.

Among Montag’s past accomplishments include establishing programs at the Wilbur & Hilda Glenn Institute for Philanthropy & Service Learning (where she was the founding director), as well as helping local families during her 10 years with the Center for Family Philanthropy at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.

“Andrea’s leadership reflects the very best of Atlanta — she’s creative, compassionate and community-minded,” said Edwin Link, executive director of Children’s Museum of Atlanta.

“Her passion for philanthropy embodies everything Imagination Ball celebrates like the joy, connection and a belief that play can change the world. Honoring her is a celebration of the imagination and generosity that inspire Atlanta’s next generation.”

Next year’s Imagination Ball, which will take place at the Atlanta History Center and is 70s-themed, will feature a cocktail hour, seated dinner, live entertainment, an auction and more.

Proceeds from the gala will go towards supporting the museum’s mission to “spark imagination and discovery through play — ensuring access for children of all backgrounds across Metro Atlanta,” according to a release.
