An intriguing new name was just added to the Atlanta Falcons head coaching search, as they will interview Matt Ryan’s CBS colleague Antonio Pearce for their vacant position.

Antonio Pierce played nine years in the NFL after going undrafted out of college, winning a Super Bowl with the Giants. He immediately stepped into the media world following his playing career as an analyst for ESPN before taking over as the head coach of Long Beach Poly High School.
In 2018, he joined the Arizona State Sun Devils coaching staff under Herm Edwards, serving as linebackers coach, co-defensive coordinator, and associate head coach. It wasn’t until 2022 that he finally joined an NFL staff with the Raiders, where he worked as a linebackers coach until being promoted to interim head coach following the in-season firing of Josh McDaniels. Las Vegas performed so inspiringly under Pierce’s leadership that the organization removed the interim tag after the season, but he was fired a year later after the team went 4-13 in 2024.
Now a member of the CBS crew, Pierce has already interviewed for the Giants vacancy and is scheduled to interview for the Falcons job later this week.
