Restaurant at Dunwoody’s Vino Venue closing, but wine tastings, classes, and events continue
The full-service restaurant part of wine bar Vino Venue in Dunwoody will close after service on Dec. 20. The business will now focus on weekly wine tastings, retail sales, classes, and events, with new hours beginning on Dec. 23. Following dinner service on Dec. 20, the full-service restaurant part of Dunwoody wine bar Vino Venue will close after 13 years.
According to an announcement on Instagram, Vino Venue will continue to host wine tastings and wine-centric events paired with food from Chef Patric Good, as well as its popular cooking and wine certification classes. Sunsetting the restaurant will allow Vino Venue’s owners and staff to focus on expanding the wine shop and catering and private events operations.
Look for weekly wine tastings, along with new hours, to begin on Dec. 23.
Rough Draft reached out to Vino Venue for more details on the restaurant closure and future expansion plans for the business.
Earlier this year, former owners Michael and Lelia Bryan sold Vino Venue and the Atlanta Wine School to wine enthusiast and entrepreneur Emily Mendyka. Lelia Bryan then planned to launch a food tour company.
“Vino Venue has always been a place of community, discovery, and celebration. I am thrilled to carry forward the incredible vision of Michael and Lelia Bryan and to build on the strong foundation they’ve created,” Mendyka told The Aha! Connection in January. “I look forward to bringing new opportunities for our guests to explore the world of wine and cuisine.”
Vino Venue is home to the Atlanta Wine School, which offers programs for becoming a Certified Specialist of Wine (WSET) and Italian Wine Professional. Cooking classes at Vino Venue range from kitchen basics to creating family dinners, with other classes exploring home and entertaining topics such as floral arranging.
