Tuesday ‘Dawg Bites Will Try To Be The Bigger Man
Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! And welcome to Tuesday of Hate Week, that of loathing all things reptilian, jortian, mulletian, and boogerian. So how does one reconcile our moral foundations with the role of healing divided societies? F* it. It’s Georgia Florida. The World’s Largest Outdoor Luxury Sport Saloon Car Cocktail Party.
Let it flow freely through you. If you don’t believe me, just look up the origins of Dark Mark Richt – a finer Christian man you will never find, but he knew when to let loose.
In the opening remarks of Head Football Coach Kirby Smart’s press conference Monday, he mentioned familiarity with both coordinators on Florida Coach Jon Sumrall’s staff. He specifically called out OC Buster Faulkner, speaking fondly of his offensive mind, scheme, and how proud and happy he was for him as his career has progressed. That’s all well and good Kirby, but you know he left UGA, went to Tech, before going to Florida, right? I mean, we have to draw the line somewhere, especially in this week of one-thousand suns-fueled hate (also fueled by another one-thousand suns).
The Bulldogs trip to Oxford November 7 was always going to be a big game, and was made even moreso by pre-season rankings. Then the shine came off a little when Ole Miss was run over by Florida in the swamp a month ago. But add in Georgia inexplicably gaffing up at home against Auburn, and almost the entirety of the mid-October top 10 teams also choking down an L, and suddenly the game has regained a lot of lustre. And as such, the welcomed overlords who decide things have made Georgia vs. the Rebels the 7:30 pm ET game on ABC. Great.
At least Ole Miss is also dealing with the grueling 8-game 9-game SEC schedule. And the Rebels will be without one of their most important weapons, as RB and athlete Kewan Lacy is expected to miss significant time dealing with a shoulder dislocation.
Let’s get back to hating Gators, shall we? Did you know they eat boogers? Sources say so, and that they wear jorts as a matter of fashion and not just necessity.
Is Georgia going to prepare for Yellow Jacket turned Gator QB Aaron Philo? Or Billy Napier holdover Trammel Jones? One put Ole Miss into the Swamp turf, the other beat Texas on the 40 acres. And UF head coach Sumrall is keeping mum on who wil get the start and how much each will play. Depending on news later this week, this might affect some Things To Worry About Florida.
Maybe just as important is who will be receiving passes from the unknown football thrower. And it appears Florida might be including the services of top wideout VB3 -Vernon Brown III. Though he’s missed the last 3 games, he still leads the team in yards per reception and yards per game receiving. #1 in some horrible combination of blue and orange is defintely a threat to a battered Bulldog defense.
Off weeks for both teams have fortunately left us bereft of significant team news. Neither team suffered quality player losses from the fortnight, neither seemingly bore the wrath of ACCPD E-bike patrolpersons. And because the NCAA is feckless, neither worries about academic progress. Yet the sentiment remains the same, and forgive me if you’ve heard this before…
Gators Eat Boogers!!! And GO ‘DAWGS!!!
