The Study Hall will be able to invest in its after-school and summer camp programs thanks to a $50,000 grant from JE Dunn Construction.
The organization offers educational and enrichment curriculum for Atlanta students from kindergarten to fifth grade.
It plans to use this money for its summer camp program, Camp Exploration, and to support program enrichment activities during the upcoming school year.
“The Study Hall is proud to have served Atlanta’s youth for 35 years and counting,” said Jacquetta Watkins, executive director at The Study Hall.
“This investment in our work assists us with more resources to create a greater impact in our young scholars’ lives.”
JE Dunn Construction’s Cornerstone Campaign will see $1 million+ donated each year to charitable causes selected by its employees.
This year’s theme is “access to safe and supportive spaces for kids in need.”
Employees nationwide nominated organizations within their cause area. Those were then vetted to identify up to four grantees per region through an invitation-only grant process.
This year, the Southeast Region’s nominee, The Study Hall was selected as a grant recipient.
“After 10 years on The Study Hall’s board, I’ve seen firsthand the remarkable impact this organization has on the lives of children in Atlanta,” said Brent Strength, senior vice president at JE Dunn Construction.
“I’m excited to see this grant help sustain this nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.”
