July 30 — Some moments are about beginnings – others are about holding the line.
In today’s newsletter, we walk alongside artist Vivian Chavez and curator Paula Cuevas, former colleagues, and first-time gallery show collaborators, as they step into their own with “The Love I Have to Give Before I Die,” a deeply personal exhibition at Swan Coach House Gallery that honors Chavez’s late father and the behind-the-scenes creative bond between both women.
Then, we take a look at MOCA GA at 25 and how a museum that started in a Midtown pool house became one of the Southeast’s most vital cultural institutions. We revisit milestones, spotlight artists, and preview what’s ahead, including a birthday celebration this Sunday and a new home in the works.
From debut exhibitions to legacy institutions, these stories remind us how much art owes to trust, vision, and showing up for the long haul.
Trust the process.

A Debut Etched in Trust
Atlanta artist Vivian Chavez steps into the spotlight with “The Love I Have to Give Before I Die,” a solo exhibition of salvaged sculpture, quiet power, and inherited technique, with longtime friend and first-time curator Paula Cuevas by her side. On view Aug. 7-Sept. 4 at Swan Coach House Gallery.
Learn how friendship and form came together for the exhibition.
